Register a birth

Parents can use this online form to register a birth for a person born in NSW.

Registering a birth is free and takes about 10 minutes to do.

Each parent needs 3 forms of ID on hand before starting the application. ID details will be entered in or may be uploaded as images.

Once you've completed the birth registration you can also order a birth certificate at same time if you want. A fee applies for birth certificates, and you will need a debit or credit card.
